Revelation 13:15-18 | The Mark of the Beast

We are continuing our discussion on the system of the beast. A global system that includes: Global Economy; Global Religion; and Global Power. Lets read Revelation 13:14-18 again to see how the Antichrist will implement this system.
This is Global System of the Beast is implemented in two ways:

• 1) The IMAGE
  • He will set up an image of himself in the holy of holies and mandate all the earth dwellers to worship him as god.
• 2) The MARK
  • He will implement a global tracking system, we know this as the mark of the beast. In which no one can buy or sell without this mark. And those who do not have this will be hunted down and killed.

The root of this matter is where is your heart? Who are you coming into union with? The world or Jesus?

• 2 Corinthians 3:18- transformed, μεταμορφόω, into the likeness of Christ
• 2 Corinthians 5:2- our habitation which is from heaven, οἰκητήριον

In contrast to the world and the system of the world that wants us to merge with evil, rebellion, and antichrist
The Antichrist is using technology and deception in the ultimate ploy to gain ultimate control of the thoughts, emotions, and the will of everyone in the world by forcing all the earth dwellers to merge with his system

• Once they have merged with the system, they will unknowingly be giving their dominion over to the beast.
• And not only their dominion, but their own souls; their mind, will and emotions, never able to choose for themselves ever again.

Last week we discussed the Image of the Beast and what this image might be and what it might be used FOR.

• In verse 14, it does not say “image OF the beast” but instead, “image to the beast,” εἰκόνα τῷ θηρίῳ. Which can also be translated, “an image FOR the beast,”... he who is having the wound of the sword and lives.
• This image might be made FOR the Antichrist because his body was so mortally wounded that the image was made FOR him to now inhabit.
• At this point, the Antichrist will be tapped into the system, by which he can know and control the thoughts of every single person who has also merged with the System of the Beast.

This brings us to the means by which the Antichrist will force everyone to merge with his system... by taking the Mark of the Beast.
The Mark of the Beast
Revelation 13:16-18 Zack’s translation 16 And he (the image) causes all , those small and those great and those rich and those poor and those free and those slaves, that he might give to them a mark (χάραγμα- stamp, mark, something shaped my man’s devising, Acts 17:29) upon their right hand or upon their forehead, 17 and so that not anyone is able to buy or sell unless he is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He who is having the understanding, calculate the number of the beast, for the number is of man and his number is 666.
Satan is a counterfeit.

• God sealed or “marked” His 144,000 witnesses with His Name, Rev 7:4; 14:1.
  • God told Moses that His statutes would be as a sign to them on their right hand and forehead, Deut 6:4-8; Exodus 13:9, 14-16.
  • Now the Antichrist is marking all the earth dwellers with His name and number.
• This number is the numeration of the Greek letters χξϛʹ
  • It is the number of his name
  • Every Greek letter has a numerical value, so it is possible that his Greek name will add up to 666.
  • More importantly, his number is of man... meaning the Antichrist is a physical man.
    • One whom Satan is using to control the world.
    • A man who has merged with the world system for global domination

This mark is not something you can accidentally take. It will be a conscious decision to merge with the system of the Antichrist and all who do so, will be rejecting Jesus as the Christ and worshipping the Antichrist as god and the savior of the world.

• The deception is that all who merge with the system will be giving over their souls to the Beast
  • Never able to repent or choose Jesus as their Savior.
  • They will be bound to the system, and the system will not allow them to have free will to choose
• Why would someone merge with this system?
  • Because this system will promise superhuman achievement such as wisdom; success, and even eternal life called “Digital Immortality.”
    • Promising that they can be like god. This was the same deceptive lure that Satan tempted Adam and Eve with, Genesis 3:4-7.
  • Yuval Noah Harari is a hater of God and blasphemes God’s Name
    • The world is progressing toward this Global System, and as technology rises, men’s dependency on God will diminish and they will rely on the advance and progress of mankind, forsaking God and loving man, making themselves to be god. This is the deception.
• Daniel says the Antichrist will corrupt with flattery, Daniel 11:32
  • Daniel’s vision of the statue prophesied of this mingling.

Daniel 2:42–44-42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

• The 7th Kingdom, depicted as the ten toes which are the Ten Kings of the New World Order will be mingled with the seed of men.
  • The Ten Kings will be merged into this system, but I think this may be speaking of the entire New World Order.
    • The basis of this kingdom is that technology has merged with the seed of men. But it is unstable, an abomination that will not stand.
  • This is a kingdom of transhuman people who have merged in union with the system of the beast.
    • The mark is the means by which one will merge with this system and hand their souls over to the Antichrist

Jesus speaks of this in Matthew 24:37–39-37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

• The point is not that there will be giants or Nephilim on the earth again, but the emphasis is their hearts.
  • Their hearts were “of the world.” Eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage to the world system.
  • Jesus warns of this in His letter to Pergamos, Πέργαμος- πέρ + γαμος meaning “an emphatic marriage,” Rev 2:14, Numbers 25:1-3.
    • The doctrine of Balaam- The Israelites were tempted to intermarry,  join, eat, commit sexual immorality with demons.
    • This is the deception and the temptation of the system of the beast
