1657 Biblia Hebraica-Novum Testamentum Graece
Hebrew Old & Greek New Testament
with a Latin interlinear translation
Printed by Christian Kirchner, Leipzig, Germany
Large Folio 15 x 10-1/2 x 3-1/2
The Greek New Testament and Hebrew Old Testament with a Latin interlinear translation printed above the Greek and Hebrew text.
This Bible is bound in reverse. It begins with Matthew and ends with Genesis. The Apocrypha is in Greek bound after the New Testament. The Old Testament is at the end of the Bible printed in reverse. Because Hebrew is written from right to left, the Old Testament begins at the end. The last page of the Bible begins with Genesis and progresses backward toward the Apocrypha.
The Greek text is the Textus Receptus and the Latin translation is that of Erasmus, revised in 1516.
