History of the Adages of Erasmus
Collection of Greek and Latin Proverbs of which Erasmus of Rotterdam compiled throughout his lifetime. His compilation of ancient proverbs has been considered a monumental work in the sixteenth century. In 1558, Henri Stephanus visited his father Robert Stephanus in Geneva who was presently printing the Adages of Erasmus. Henri added some of his notes to the collection of proverbs and they were printed in this 1558 edition.
